Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental disability significantly affecting verbal and nonverbal communication and social interaction. Children may also display behaviors such as engagement in repetitive activities (restricted interests) and stereotyped movements (flapping, rocking, etc.), and resistance to environmental change or change in daily routines, and/or sensory processing differences.  There is significant variation in skills among children with Autism. For some, the school environment can be very challenging. Difficulties with social interactions, transitions, sensory experiences, and unexpected changes often make learning in a typical classroom setting difficult without support.

All providers at Palmetto Assessments & Learning Services have extensive training and experience in assessing and diagnosing Autism.  The PALS Autism evaluation process includes collaboration and testing data analysis with both providers.  Our evaluations consist of the following:

  • Cognitive Ability Assessment/s

  • Academic Achievement Testing
